    At ChartMentor ("we," "us," "our"), your privacy is paramount. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our browser extension and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

    2. Information We Collect

    2.1 Information You Provide

    • Account information: Email address, name, and authentication credentials
    • Subscription data: Plan selection and billing information (processed securely via Stripe — we never store your full payment card details)
    • Custom prompts: System prompts and analysis preferences you configure

    2.2 Information Collected Automatically

    • Usage data: Analysis count, feature usage, timestamps of requests
    • Device information: Browser type, browser version, operating system (for compatibility and debugging)
    • Marketing measurement data: We may collect page views, signup events, checkout starts, purchase events, browser identifiers from marketing pixels such as Meta _fbp/_fbc, referrer URLs, and campaign parameters for advertising attribution.
    • Chart images and AI logs: Chart screenshots, prompts, AI request metadata, raw AI responses, parsed outputs, model/provider details, and related error data may be stored in private admin logs for debugging, support, model evaluation, dataset curation, service quality, and abuse prevention.

    2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

    • We do not track your general browsing history
    • We do not collect financial account information, portfolio data, or trading account credentials
    • We do not monitor your trading activity outside of ChartMentor

    3. How We Use Your Information

    • Service provision: To authenticate you, process analyses, and manage your subscription
    • Service improvement: To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve AI accuracy and features
    • Model evaluation and dataset curation: To manually review AI outputs, compare model quality, label examples, and export curated logs that have been marked eligible for evaluation or training workflows
    • Communication: To send essential service notifications (account, billing, security alerts)
    • Marketing measurement: To measure whether Meta ads lead to account creation, checkout starts, and paid subscriptions
    • Security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
    • Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
    • AI model improvement (Free tier only): If you are on the Free plan, your chart analyses are processed through AI providers whose free-tier API terms may permit the use of submitted data for model training and improvement. Paid plan users (Starter, Pro, Elite) are routed through private API access where submitted data is not used for AI model training.

    4. Third-Party Services

    We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

    • Stripe: Payment processing. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe under their Privacy Policy. We receive only a customer ID and subscription status.
    • Meta Pixel and Conversions API: Advertising measurement for page views, signups, checkout starts, and purchases. Browser events and server events are deduplicated with matching event IDs. We do not send chart screenshots, prompts, trading account data, or full payment card details to Meta.
    • Fastlane.ai tracking: Marketing attribution measurement for campaign traffic and website conversion activity. We do not send chart screenshots, prompts, trading account data, or full payment card details to Fastlane.ai.
    • AI Providers: Chart images and prompt context are sent to AI model providers for analysis. Free tier: Analyses are processed via AI providers whose free-tier API terms may include using submitted data for model training and improvement. Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Elite): Analyses are processed through private API access where your data is not used for AI model training by those providers. Upgrading to any paid plan ensures your chart data is excluded from provider training pipelines.
    • Hosting Infrastructure: Our backend services are hosted on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.

    5. Data Retention

    • Account data: Retained for the duration of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
    • AI analysis logs and chart images: Retained in private admin logs until manually deleted by an administrator or removed as part of account deletion.
    • Usage logs: Retained for up to 12 months for service improvement and abuse prevention, then anonymized or deleted.
    • Billing records: Retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).

    6. Data Security

    • All data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption
    • Authentication tokens are securely stored and rotated
    • Payment data is processed through PCI DSS-compliant Stripe
    • Access to production systems is restricted and monitored
    • Regular security reviews and dependency updates

    While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

    7. We Do Not Sell Your Data

    We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share data with third-party service providers as described in Section 4, and only to the extent necessary to provide the Service.

    8. Your Rights

    Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws), you may have the right to:

    • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
    • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
    • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
    • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
    • Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
    • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests

    9. Cookies and Local Storage

    ChartMentor uses functional storage for the service and marketing measurement storage for attribution:

    • Authentication tokens for seamless login
    • User preferences and extension settings
    • Analysis history and extension settings stored locally on your device where needed for product functionality
    • Marketing pixel browser identifiers and campaign attribution parameters for marketing measurement

    You can limit marketing measurement through your browser privacy controls, ad blocker settings, platform ad preferences, or by clearing cookies and local storage.

    10. Children's Privacy

    ChartMentor is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly.     11. International Data Transfers

    Your data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

    12. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
