    Quick Start Guide

    From install to your first review

    1. Install the Extension

    Install ChartMentor from the Chrome Web Store. Click "Add to Chrome" and confirm. The ChartMentor icon will appear in your browser toolbar. Pin it for easy access.

    2. Create Your Account

    Click the extension icon and sign up with your email. Free accounts include one lifetime plan review with no card required. Eligible users can then start seven days of Pro for $1 today; it renews at $39.99/month unless canceled.

    3. Review Your First Trade Plan

    Open a chart on TradingView and mark your intended entry, stop, and target with the Long or Short Position tool. You can also enter those details manually. Then click Review a Plan: the mentor checks the thesis against the visible chart and your saved rules without choosing a direction for you.

    4. Ask About the Current Market

    Ask a fundamental or catalyst question naturally in the chat. ChartMentor answers with the current bias, the strongest drivers, the opposing risk, and the next catalyst. During a mentor session, Pro users can also accept a current fundamental brief when the mentor offers one for a verified market.

    Strategy Lens

    How ChartMentor picks the review framework

    ChartMentor auto-selects a Strategy Lens - ICC, breakout, mean reversion, and more - from your Trading Profile: the trading style, risk tolerance, and experience level you set once during onboarding. There is no prompt to write and nothing to configure per review.

    If a review does not feel matched to your style, update your Trading Profile from the Account page. The lens updates automatically on your next review, and it applies the same way on Free and Pro.

    Mentor chat and chart reviews are included by plan:

    • Free - one lifetime plan review, no expiry and no card required
    • Pro - $1 today for seven days, then $39.99/month unless canceled; ChartMentor Infinite for mentor chat and plan reviews, current research, and mentor memory

    Pro has no customer-facing usage counter. A high-volume technical safeguard keeps the service reliable, while Free's plan review remains a one-time allotment.

    Chart Preparation

    Set up your chart for reliable plan reviews

    Visibility Matters

    ChartMentor reads a screenshot of your chart, so it can only evaluate what is actually on screen. Zoom to show the relevant structure and keep the chart free from obstructing panels or popups. See our TradingView Setup Guide for full details.

    Indicators

    Keep your preferred indicators active. ChartMentor can read RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, moving averages, volume profiles, and many custom indicators, as long as they are clearly visible. Indicator-generated BUY/SELL and Entry/SL/TP overlays are treated as context, not as your marked trade plan. Avoid overloading the chart with too many overlapping overlays.

    Timeframe

    Set the timeframe you intend to trade before clicking Review a Plan. ChartMentor also reads TradingView chart context directly, but the visible structure still determines how useful the review will be.

    Visible Level Recognition

    ChartMentor can read manual TradingView position tools, entry prices, stop loss levels, and take profit targets when visible. It treats indicators and auto-generated levels as chart context unless you explicitly explain your plan in chat.

    Drawing Tools

    Trendlines, horizontal levels, Fibonacci retracements, channels, and other drawing tools are all recognized by the AI. Use them to highlight the levels you want incorporated into the analysis.

    Trading Profile

    Your Trading Profile - style, risk tolerance, and experience level - is what ChartMentor uses to pick your Strategy Lens and calibrate the review. Set it once from the Account page during onboarding, and update it any time your approach changes.

    Analysis History

    Learn from past reviews

    Use your saved analyses to revisit past insights and compare how different plans played out. Outcomes you report feed your mentor memory, so recurring mistakes get flagged automatically in future reviews.

    Common Issues & Solutions

    Quick fixes for common problems

    Extension Not Detecting the Chart

    Make sure you are on a TradingView chart page, not the homepage or screener. Try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, disable and re-enable the extension from chrome://extensions.

    Login Issues

    If you can't log in, try resetting your password from the login screen. Make sure you are using the same email you signed up with. Clear your browser cache if the login form is not loading properly.

    Analysis Taking Too Long

    Wait for the current review to finish before starting another. If it fails, check that your chart is loaded and use Retry. Contact support if the problem repeats.

    Access Not Updating

    Plan access syncs automatically after checkout. If Pro does not show ChartMentor Infinite, log out and back in to refresh the authenticated account state. Contact support if the paid status still looks wrong.

    Analysis Errors

    If you get an error during analysis, check that your chart is fully loaded and visible. Partially loaded charts or charts with overlays like broker panels can interfere. Close any TradingView popups and run the analysis again.
